Also, in the Tube Extension video where I make the polishing hone with the wooden dowel, I state that is stainless steel wool, it is not, simply use good ol' steel wool.......

Sear Spring.......there is nothing you can do to smooth out the trigger of an 870, there is no polishing or any other gimmick.  Beware of anyone claiming they can do this.   They are only taking your money and may damage your trigger assembly or make it unsafe.  If you want it to perform better, simply keep it clean.  The Sear Spring you have determines the amount of trigger pull.  A standard sear will give you 3-5 pounds of trigger pull.  The heavy sear which is used in the 870 Police will give you 7-8 pounds.   There are lighter springs for trap shooting that will give you less then 3 pounds, however, I do not recommend them on a Tactical Shotgun or Home Defense Shotgun.   To change out your sear spring click on the below link and watch the "How To Video"



Extractor - The extractor on your 870 Express and factory 870 tactical model is a MIM part.  I have never seen one wear out or fail, but if you are having extracting problems or the part seems worn then replace it.  The extractor on your 870 police, 11-87 and 1100 is a solid steel one and again, I have yet to see one wear out.  Watch this video to see how easy it is to change.



Safety - do not change your safety if it is working correctly.  However, if you want to install an over size safety then here is a video to show you how.  If you want to change out the J-lock safety you can use the same detent ball and spring but they are somewhat different then the ones for the standard safety so you should use a new safety detent ball and spring.



Tube Extension kit -  If you have an Express model and want to install a tube extension you need to modify the weapon.  This can void your factory warranty so think about it.  This video is the correct way to do this.  Beware, there is a lot out out there on the Inter-net on how to do this other ways and they are wrong.  This is the correct way.



Carrier dog follower spring - this spring ensures the shell carrier functions.  If you are having any issue with this, changing out this spring may correct it.  Your Express and factory 870 Tactical models come with the same spring and it is listed as the heavy spring on the parts list as they don't make the standard one any longer.   The 870 police does not use an 870 part for this spring.
