Many of you know about the Remington 870. If you don't, well, you came to right place. In the early 1950's the guys at Remington designed a new pump shotgun. They needed a name for it and one of them looked at the proposal and saw that the raw materials to build the weapon cost $8.70. Thus was born the best pump shotgun ever built. The design was so advanced and solid that there have been very few upgrades over the years and even those have been minor. That old 870 of your Dad's is as good a weapon as anyone is building today. The proof of this are all the departments that have wandered off to other shotguns over the years only to return to the Remington 870. To all the guys out there that grew up with the 870 and were lured away by the Marketing of other manufacturers but have since came back to Remington, welcome home.....
There is only one 870. They differ only by finish, furniture and a few minor parts. Your 870 Express is the same weapon as the Wing Master, 870 Police or any of the Tactical models except for the finish and a few parts. An 870 Police is a Parkerized Wingmaster except for two small springs. This is why I advised you that for a weapon on a budget go buy any of the 870 Express Home defense models. However, if you want a more durable finish and the internal upgrades of the 870 Police then read on.
I attended the Factory Law Enforcement Armorers Course in Illion NY and thanks to the skills of the Instructors, I passed. I came home and offered my services to those Departments that are to small to have an Armorer. The weapons I build have been catching on and an LEO contacts me, receives his weapon and within days others in his department are calling. Kind'a like rabbits breeding. The guys on www.gunbroker.com have been keeping me busy also. You can go to the gun broker site and look me up under the user name aippi and see I have over 820 A+ ratings and have never got less then an A+..
What I do is take a factory new 870 firarms or just the receiver and upgrade it. We bead blast them and parkerize them with a pre-blackened heavy Zinc parkering ( my weapons are blacker then my ex-wife's heart). Or you can have the Heavy Zinc in Grey. I have a large selection of barrels and stocks. I also build on new Remington 870 Police Receivers and have them with factory installed Wilson Combat Ghost Ring Sights. I can install the Trijicon Ghost Ring sights on the standard P receivers if you want. The weapons I build on the P receiver will have all P parts including the trigger assembly and bolt assembly.
Go to the "build your weapon " page to see what accessories are offered and links to the manufacturers web site..
I can also take your Remington 870 or Remington 11-87 and rebuild it for you. Doesn't matter how beat up it is, you will get back a like new weapon and not just on the outside. My rebuild customers have been very pleased and a few even bought new weapons after seeing what I did with the old 870 that had been in the gun safe for years. The best part is I get to test fire all those great Remington Shotguns.
You can design the weapon you want and I will build it. My shelves are stocked with every thing I offer so unless you get wild with what you want on the weapon, the build time is days not weeks. I am an FFL dealer and an Authorized Remington Parts Dealer and I buy a large volume and receive great discounts. Best thing is I pass that on to you in the price of the weapon.
Go to the "build your weapon" page As you are designing your weapon go to the "Links" page to see the items you are considering. I keep my website small by not having to post pictures of all these products, besides the manufacturer sites are better and the pics are better so go to each site and pick the products you want me to use. Call or e-mail me with any questions about any of these products. If it is on my website it is duty quality but many items are a matter of preference and work better for specific use, SO ASK BEFORE YOU HAVE IT PUT ON YOUR WEAPON....
Go to the Options and links page to see the items I use to build these weapon. By going to those pages and looking at the manufacturers pictures and descriptions you help me keep this website smaller, save me work on the website and help keep cost down. Best of all, their pictures and descriptions are better then mine.....
Again, thanks to the skill of the Instructors at the Remington Law Enforcement Armorers Course, I passed. I am looking forward to going back to recertify. If you are ever even close to Ilion NY during normal business hours, swing by and see the Remington Museum and see some one of a kind weapons. Some of John Brownings original designs ( and yes he worked for Remington ) are there. You will also see the evolution and history of some of the finest weapons made......... Special thanks to Lyle, Remington is lucky to have you. I know you are close to retirement but I hope you are there when I come back to re-certify
